a static class cannot be instantiated

A static class can be used as a convenient container for sets of methods that just operate on input parameters and do not have to get or set any internal instance fields.

public or private

public: The type or member can be accessed by any other code in the same assembly or another assembly that references it.

private: The type or member can only be accessed by code in the same class or struct.

private string returnString(){return “string”; }       //beginnen met een kleine letter
